If you’re a skier or snowboarder, or better yet, a parenting version of same, then happy day! The days of missing gloves, goggles and gear are numbered. Enter the Transpack Ski Bag system. We had the opportunity to field test Transpack’s XT1 & XTW ski bags on a trip to Big White Ski Resort in Kelowna, British Columbia, and we couldn’t have been happier with how well they performed.
Transpack Ski Bags Gear Review
The XT1 & XTW Transpack ski and snowboard bags are roomy and spacious. Transpack utilizes an Isosceles Storage System that distributes the weight and takes the load off your back. The bags can be carried by the large loop on top or worn as a backpack (straps included). The sides zip separately to accommodate one ski or snowboard boot in its own waterproof pouch, distributing the weight.

The middle of the bag can be used to pack all of your other loose ski gear – googles, gaiters, gloves, and helmets. Everything fits well within the main pouch, which is cinched up with a drawstring pull and then covered and secured by the main bag flap. Easy peasy, and any child can pack their own ski bag with minimal help from mom or dad.
Carrying gear is a breeze
As mentioned, once fully packed, the Transpack bag can be carried via its top loop, or as a backpack. The bag’s design ensures that weight distribution is even, and despite the heavy boots in their pouches, the bag feels surprisingly light as you hoist the bag onto your shoulders. My teen certainly had no problem packing or carrying the bag on his own.
For younger kids, Transpack makes its Edge Jr bag line with their smaller frames in mind. No more carrying Junior’s gear for them – they can do it for themselves.

Transpack offers colours galore
Transpack offers a rainbow of colour choices for its ski bags. There’s also print and pattern choices, should kids want the same color but you need to tell them apart. My Floral White XTW Transpack bag is distinctive, and matches my overall snowboarding outfit color scheme to a T. Ski fashion is important!
