This pandemic period has put many families into a holding pattern when it comes to travel. While dreams of getting on an airplane may be temporarily shelved as we look to explore closer to home, the exciting possibility of soaring across Canada and around the world remains in reach at FlyOver Canada Vancouver.
Whether you’re itching for some soft adventure or trying to satisfy your craving for a big journey somewhere far away, you can experience the thrill of travel without actually having to leave Vancouver by booking a ‘flight’ with FlyOver Canada and the incredible FlyOver Iceland experience.

FlyOver Canada Vancouver
Like the bears of our Coastal Mountains, we’re emerging from months of isolation, a little nervous and unsure of the new normal. The good news for families looking for fun activities to do with kids in Vancouver is that the popular FlyOver Canada attraction has reopened on the downtown waterfront.
Even better, the exciting new FlyOver Iceland film is also playing in Vancouver for a limited time. Coupled with great deals and new safety protocols to keep you and your family safe and healthy, the promise of spending fun summer days exploring the world from our own backyard is something to cheer about.
What is the Flyover Canada experience
If you haven’t experienced FlyOver Canada before, prepare for a thrilling ride. The attraction utilizes state-of-the-art technology to give you the feeling of flight. Remember how lovely that is?
You will hang suspended, feet dangling, before a 20-metre spherical screen while the FlyOver Canada film whisks you away on an exhilarating 8-minute journey across Canada, from east to west. Special effects, including wind, mist and scents, combine with the ride’s motion to create an unforgettable experience.
If you’re like me, you’ll get a bit verklempt and teary about the magnificence of our home and native land. It’s truly an inspiring and unforgettable experience.
The FlyOver Iceland experience lets guests soar, dive and dip through the incredible land of Fire and Ice, without leaving Vancouver. The film’s pre-flight experience immerses guests into the folklore, history and natural wonders of Iceland.

FlyOver Canada Vancouver: Pursuit Safety Promise
Following a temporary closure in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at FlyOver Canada has diligently reviewed all aspects of the experience and produced a new operational plan with guest and staff safety and well-being top of mind.
FlyOver’s Safety Promise provides a commitment to the safety and well-being of everyone to ensure comfort and cleanliness while providing a fun and high-quality entertainment experience.
“We have taken safety and cleanliness very seriously for both guests and team members,” says General Manager Lauren Travan. “We’ve utilized the space to keep groups separated,” Travan says. “Each group gets its own pod – no one will share a pod with your group.”
Each step of the FlyOver experience, from arrival through the post-ride space which includes the Flying Whale Cafe, has been examined by parent company Pursuit to be in accordance with WorkSafeBC and BC Provincial Government guidelines. The Safety Promise includes;
- Reorganizing the flow of people through spaces to ensure adequate physical distancing.
- Reducing ride capacity to ensure groups have proper spacing between other groups. The reduced capacity will allow the team at FlyOver to fully sanitize ride seats and all touch points between guests.
- Guests will be offered everything from hand sanitizer to masks. The entire facility, in the iconic Canada Place on Vancouver’s Harbourfront, will go through deep cleaning regularly.
- Plastic gloves and hand sanitizer stations are available to all guests upon arrival.
- Floor markings show 2-metre/6-foot distances in all required areas and stanchions are used to separate people to ensure distancing.
- Each small group will have a Flight Guide at all times to make sure social distance rules are being considered.
- Plush toys and other textured items have been removed from the retail store to ensure no germs are being transferred between guests.
