My kids love to read, despite the lure of their iPhones, our family iPad, and the latest version of COD on the Xbox. But the love of a good book, and the quiet time to enjoy it, is a valued commodity in our home. Thanks to the excellent folks at Lonely Planet, our boys have had the opportunity to review some new and exciting Lonely Planet Kids books series this month.
Great Lonely Planet Kids Books for the Holidays
Lonely Planet’s Not-For-Parents The Travel Book includes ‘cool stuff’ about every country in the world. Both boys enjoyed reading about all of the different countries (North Korea! Botswana!), and planning which places they’d like to visit in the future (Chile!). We take this popular book with us often on car trips. My younger son likes to read it over and over again. ‘I really like the pictures of animals and all the interesting places, and the cool factoids are great.”
Adventures in Cold Places is a great activity book for the under 10 set. It’s packed with over 250 reusable stickers to keep kids busy for hours. Kids will love finding just the right spot in the book, or for parents to help during story time. There’s a little baby polar bear hiding on every main sticker scene page (hide and seek!).
